Training Capacity Building Activities
Trainings
KVK, Jhalawar since its establishment has directed its efforts towards agricultural development in the district and bringing about entrepreneurship and skills among practitioners of agriculture and rural youth with a view to ensure livelihood security. The major emphasis has been to technological empowerment, entrepreneurship and economic development of farmers and rural youth. The details of trainings organized during last one decade are given as under.
Farmer and farm women
KVK organized trainings in different disciplines benefiting farmers and farm women. Trainings were organized in Crop production, Horticulture, Animal production, Plant protection, Home science, Soil fertility, Water management, etc. These trainings were motivated large number of farmers to adopt latest technologies in agriculture and allied sectors. In addition to this, Proper stress was also given for strengthening the income generation activities of the rural women were trained in different training courses to make them enable to generate extra income from vocations like tailoring, cutting, Dhaga-Katai, Tye & Dye and pickle making along with preserving the fruits and vegetables during the peak season of their availability.
Rural Youth
KVK has directed its efforts for bringing out entrepreneurship and skills development among rural youth with a view to ensure livelihood security for this purpose. KVK managed funds from different organizations for organizing long duration training of 15 days to 2 months to develop the vocational potential among the rural youth. The youths were trained on the principal of “learning by doing” and “Seeing is believing” on various aspects like Krishi Jankar, Udhyaniki Jankar, Preservation of fruits & vegetable, Nursery management, Pashu jankar, cutting & tailoring, repair & maintenance of electric motor, diesel engine and tractor etc, along with many other vacations for self employment generation.
Extension Functionaries
KVK also trained Extension functionaries of Department of Agriculture and line department through training organized on aspect of crop production, horticulture, animal husbandry and home science. This helped in fast dissemination of latest technologies among the farmers throughout the district.
