The KVK, Jhalawar was established in March 1993 to transfer and disseminate the latest agricultural technical knowhow among the farmers and to equip the agricultural extension functionary of the state Government department, Non Governmental organizations and other departments working in villages. This KVK with its modest beginning has progressed steadily and became pioneer institute of the farmer of the District. Now a days the KVK, Jhalawar is one of the leading KVK among all KVKs which are being governed by Directorate of Extension Education, MPUAT, Udaipur.

Total16.13 ha land was allotted to KVK as its infrastructural farm at two different locations i.e. Jhalara Patan and Campus farm, Jhalawar having 8.07 ha & 8.06 ha land, respectively. Out of which 9.0 ha land is being utilized for crop production. At present out of this cultivated land 0.5 ha set aside for demonstration, 2.0 ha put under orchard and other purposes.

District Profile

The district Jhalawar is situated between Kota and Baran district of Rajasthan and touches the state of Madhya Pradesh. It falls in Agro-climatic Zone V (humid south eastern plain). An average the climate is fairly dry and healthy. The year may be divided into four seasons -- the hot season from March to the middle of the June, the monsoon season from mid-June to September, post monsoon season from October to November and the cold season from December to February. The annual rainfall ranges from 900-1000 mm. The western portion of the district gets less rains than the eastern portion. The south west monsoon advances into the area in the latter half of the June and as much as 93 percent of the annual rainfall is recorded during the season.
