Village Adoption Programme Under MGMG
An innovative initiative “MeraGaonMeraGaurav” has been planned to promote the direct interface of scientists with the farmers to hasten the lab to land process. The objective of this scheme is to provide farmers with required information, knowledge and advisories on regular basis by adopting villages.
The participation of small and marginal farmers in Indian agriculture is very important. Small farmers put forth their desire on various forums to have timely information on investment in agriculture, loans, availability of other basic amenities, market rates, extension activitiesand facilities provided by different agencies, new research findings andtechnologies, etc.
Under this scheme, scientists will select villages as per their convenience and will remain in touch with the selected villages and provide information to the farmers on technical and other related aspects in a time frame through personal visits or on telephone. Being a resource person for the village, the scientistsare also expected to monitor the process of adoption of agricultural technologies by the farmers. The scientists may make use of community radio, local newspapers, mobile messages, video, exhibition and local media and make initiatives to have dialogue with the farmers in their local language. The cooperation of KVKs, ATMA, etc. will be effective in demonstration of technologies to the farmers. Besides providing information to farmers on market rates, market trends, the information on various agricultural organisations associated with agriculture may also be given so that the farmers can contact these organisations for finding solutions to their agriculture related problems. Scientists will also create awareness among farmers about climate change, other customized services, protective measures and other issues of local and national importance.
Pre Kharif & Rabi Sammelan
As per directives received from the ICAR, New Delhi Krishi Vigyan Kendra organized Pre Kharif & Rabi Sammelan for the progressive farmers, allied department of state government officials, district administration and University Officials participated in the Sammelan. More than 1000 farmers and other dignitaries benefitted through latest Agricultural and Allied subject technologies, Organic farming, Scientific animal husbandry management, Soil Health, Integrated Pest Management, Diversified farming such as Horticulture, Apiculture, Protected cultivation, etc. During this sammelan the participants benefitted through Exhibition on latest technology of the agriculture.
Pradhan Mantri Phasal Beema Yojana Kisan Mela
A one day Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana organized by KVK, Jhalawar to motivate the farmers of the district along with all the MLAs, Local Political representatives of Gramin Vikash Vibhag of the district, District administration and University officials participated. To aware the farmers about newly launched Pradhan Mantri Fasal Beema Yojana by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Different Insurance companies invited in the Mela and exhibit their schemes in the stall. Regarding Fasal Beema Yojana KVK published two colorful folders for the farmers and officials about rules and regulation of the Fasal Beema Yojana. More than 1000 participants benefitted during awareness camp and Kisan Mela.
PPVFRA training Programmes
One day awareness camp cum training programme for farmers regarding Protection of Plant Varieties and Farmers Right Act (PPVFRA) was organized. In this farmers were given knowledge regarding the procedure of PPVFRA and shown film for clarifying the whole about this act.
MIDH Training Programme
Jhalawar of the Rajasthan is important district to produce seed spices particularly Coriander and Fenugreek. So, with the financial assistance of DASD, Calicut under MIDH project. In this the demonstration on fenugreek was conducted at farmers field and two training programme one at village-Chachlao and second at KVK, Jhalawar for giving the latest technological information to the farmers.
Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana
Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is a rural development programme broadly focusing upon the development in the villages which includes social development, cultural development and spread motivation among the people on social mobilization of the village community.[1] The programme was launched by the Prime Minister of India. The scheme objectives are development of model villages, called Adarsh Grams, through the implementation of existing schemes, and certain new initiatives to be designed for the local context, which may vary from village to village and Creating models of local development which can be replicated in other villages. KVK organized On Campus, Off Campus training programmes in the Kharif and Rabi seasons and laid out Front Line Demonstration to increase production as well as productivity of prevailing crops of the village.
University Adopted Village
The Hon’ble Governor and Chancellor, Agriculture University, Kota, Rajasthan has taken up initiative for adoption of village by every State university in Rajasthan and developing it as a “Smart Village”. In this context Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Agriculture University Kota constitutes a Coordination Committee of the district administration including DLO’s of various development departments. The Sarpanch of the village is also a member of this committee. The Hon’ble Vice Chancellor appointed Nodal officer for “Smart Village”.
As per suggestion given by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Agriculture University, Kota, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jhalawar adopted a village Chachhlao, P.S. Pidawa and develop this village as “Smart village” with the collaboration of district administration including various development department.
KVK prepare an action plan particularly on the dissemination of different Agricultural and allied subject technologies in the village Chachhlao to increase the agriculture production and productivity of main crops, Animal health camp, Regular Health checkup, SHG’s for women, Women empowerment, Swaccha Abhiyan, Adult Education, Van Mahotsav, Encourage of Yoga, Skill development training for rural youth, Organic farming, Water conservation, etc.
The Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jhalawar, and Agriculture University Kota done the following activities under village adoption programme at Chachlao village which are briefly described here:-
Special Vocational Training Programme
For self employment and skill development the vocational trainings on the various topics like Krishi Jankar, Udhyaniki Jankar, Pashu jankar, Repair and maintenance of Diesel engine and electric motor, Nursery Management, Mushroom Production, Poly house, Shade net house and Drip irrigation system repair and maintenance for farmers. Beside these the Fruit and vegetable preservation, Tailor Ladies, Die & Tie Cutting & Tailoring trainings were organized for rural women.
