Goat Unit

Goat Unit:

To promote awareness and skill development among farmers, a Goat Rearing Demonstration Unit (Sirohi breed) was established at the Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jhalawar (KVK, Jhalawar) in the year 2023. The primary objective of this unit is to educate farmers about scientific goat farming practices, especially focusing on the Sirohi breed, which is well-known for its adaptability and good meat production.

This demonstration unit serves as a model for training and capacity-building, where farmers can observe modern techniques in goat housing, feeding, breeding and healthcare. By showcasing the economic and nutritional benefits of goat rearing, the unit encourages farmers to adopt it as a profitable allied agricultural activity, contributing to livelihood enhancement and rural development
