Infrastructure

As per the budget provision of ICAR the administrative building, farmer’s hostel, soil testing laboratory, six residential quarters, roof water harvesting structure, threshing floor, godown and farm pond is constructed. On the other hand some demonstration cum production units like vermi compost and mother orchard in 2.0 ha area with nearly plantation of 930 different fruit plants along with drip irrigation system has been established from the revolving fund generated by KVK through seed production and NHM support. Three dormitory and two class rooms were also constructed under RMOL scheme. Like wise the Distillation extraction unit, Orange processing unit, Agro Service unit, Post harvest technology lab have been set up under the Rastriya Sam Vikas Yojana. During the year 2007-08 the poly house & seed production poly house have been constructed by the support of ICAR & NHM respectively. Recently the center has received the infrastructure that of Poly house & shed net along with tin shed godown from Fragrance & Flavor Department, Kannauj.

Seed Production Unit

KVK has only 6.5 ha land for seed production out of 16.13 ha area. The seed production of important Kharif and Rabi crops of the area was taken on this land. Seed production includes all the improved technologies which demonstrated for the farmers.

Vermicompost Unit

For reclaiming physical and Biological condition of Soil along with promotion of organic farming through Vermicompost unit was established with 24 beds (10x3 feet). The total Vermicompost is being produced 70-80q in every 45 days. The total expenditure for this is Rs. 10500/- and producing Vermicompost of Rs. 40000/-.

Fruit and Vegetable preservation

For the self employment development among rural women a well equipped with latest machines unit of Fruit and vegetable preservation was established.

Agro Service Center

lf employment of rural youths and unemployed at their village, Agro service center under Rashtriya Sam Vikas Yojana was established. In this rural youths are trained for repairing and maintenance of diesel engine and electric motor and tractor and implements.

Soil and Water Testing Unit

For testing of Soil and Water sample, a unit was established at KVK. By the help of Soil & Water testing unit farmers may get the result of their samples and use the fertilizers as STBR.

Mother Orchard and Nursery Unit

For improving the skill development in trainees regarding Horticulture this unit is established. Mother Orchard of mandarin, Guava, Pomegranate, Lime, etc. is planted. Quality planting material is being prepared in Nursery for vegetables as well as fruits by the help of mother orchards.

Orange processing Unit

A well equipped with various processing machines, this unit is established. In this KVK is helping to farmers for washing, drying, grading, waxing and packaging with no loss profit. By this farmers are getting higher marketing rate of Mandarin.

Plant Health Clinic

By the financial assistance of ICAR, Plant health clinic established in 2012 at KVK Jhalawar. In this the disease, insect, plant samples are being tested and suggested the solutions to farmers.

Azolla Unit

The unit was established with the objectives to make aware of farmers regarding Azolla and to be popularize among farmers for supplementing the animal feed for Protein as well as used as fertilizer in crops.

Farm Pond

For demonstrating and making awareness among the farmers regarding water saving a unit of Farm pond was prepared by the budget from ICAR.
